Kenmore’s ”First Nations” Group Camp
4th to 5th September 2021 On 4th & 5th September, 2021, Kenmore held a Group Camp at Wirraglen Scout Camp Ground at Highfields on the Darling Downs. Each ‘patrol’ had a mix of members of different age levels, which worked extremely well. Click here the view full article. |
Darcy's Adventurer Hike at Girraween National Park -
14th to 16th April 2021 As part of the badgework requirement for the Australian Scout Medallion/Award scouts are required to plan and conduct a three-day (30 km) journey without leaders accompanying them. For my journey I chose to hike in Girraween National Park. During Covid Lockdown, I undertook the planning of the route, the food and the gear requirements for the hike. One of the most important things to take is a spot tracker. This device is like a GPS but it sends regular updates of location so our route could be tracked by the leaders, even though there were not with us for the hike. Click here the view full article. |

Nighthawk - 8th to 9th August 2015
On the 8/9th August Kenmore Scouts entered a team in Operation Nighthawk held at Clifton. Enduring freezing conditions (-2C) the team, consisting of Felix Mauracher (PL), Harry Hutchinson, Sam Garnett, Ben Kennedy, Elliott Hewett, Bill Ingham-Myers and Oliver Hewett, were able to secure second place out of 140 teams. Great result for a relatively young team. Click here for some more photos from Nighthawk. [Article contribution from Jeff Carrier. Photos courtesy Steve Hutchison] |
